How RestAscent handles your sleep and account data.

This Privacy Policy explains how Argonetic collects, uses, shares, and protects personal information when you use RestAscent websites, mobile apps, coaching features, AI-assisted recommendations, sleep-data imports, and related services.

Sleep data is sensitive We use sleep and rhythm data to provide RestAscent features, not to sell advertising profiles.
You stay in control You can request access, correction, export, deletion, and withdrawal of optional permissions.
AI is used for coaching AI helps analyze patterns and draft recommendations, but RestAscent is not a diagnostic or emergency service.

1. Who we are and how to contact us

RestAscent is provided by Argonetic. In this policy, "RestAscent", "we", "us", and "our" mean Argonetic as the operator of the RestAscent service.

2. Personal information we collect

The exact information we collect depends on the features you use, the permissions you grant, and whether you use RestAscent as an individual, a Coach subscriber, or through a Teams program.

Google Play data-safety summary

The Android app currently uses Google/Firebase sign-in, Firebase Cloud Messaging, Health Connect sleep import, secure local token storage, and the RestAscent API. The Google Play Data safety answers should match these current app behaviors:

Device or other IDs RestAscent processes Firebase installation identifiers, Firebase Cloud Messaging tokens, and connected sleep-source record identifiers where needed. App info and performance RestAscent keeps API/security logs and may receive platform crash, diagnostic, or performance reports. Data deletion Users can request account deletion or partial data deletion through the RestAscent account-deletion page. Disclosed in the deletion controls, retention section, and public account-deletion page.

3. Health, sleep, and connected-provider data

RestAscent may request permission to import sleep-related data from services such as Health Connect on Android, Apple Health on iOS, or similar connected sleep providers if those integrations are enabled. We only request data types needed for user-facing RestAscent features, such as sleep trace import, Sleep Debt Clock, Sleep Score, circadian rhythm anchors, and coaching recommendations.

  • Your permission is required. You can grant, deny, or revoke connected-provider permissions through your device settings or the connected provider's permission controls.
  • Imported sleep data is used for RestAscent features. We do not use imported health or fitness data for third-party advertising, targeted advertising, or data brokerage.
  • Connected providers are separate services. Deleting RestAscent data does not delete data held independently by Google, Apple, device manufacturers, wearables, or other providers.
  • RestAscent is not a medical device. RestAscent provides sleep-health education and coaching. It does not diagnose, treat, cure, or prevent disease and is not a substitute for medical advice.

4. How we use personal information

  • Provide the service: authenticate users, sync sleep traces, calculate Sleep Debt Clock, Sleep Score, circadian anchors, reminders, rewards, and coaching views.
  • Personalize guidance: tailor sleep education, AI sleep pattern analysis, coaching recommendations, audio suggestions, and next actions.
  • Send notifications: deliver reminders, account messages, coaching prompts, and progress notifications when you enable them.
  • Operate subscriptions: manage Free, Coach, Teams, or future plans, including entitlements, app-store status, billing support, and fraud prevention.
  • Support Teams programs: provide privacy-safe aggregate reporting to employers or program sponsors without exposing individual sleep records unless you separately authorize a specific disclosure.
  • Improve and secure RestAscent: monitor reliability, debug issues, prevent abuse, protect accounts, evaluate feature performance, and develop product improvements.
  • Comply with law: respond to legal requests, keep required records, and fulfill privacy, tax, security, and regulatory obligations.

5. AI-assisted sleep analysis and coaching

RestAscent may use AI-assisted systems to analyze recent sleep patterns and generate coaching recommendations. These features are designed for education and behavior support, not diagnosis or emergency decision-making.

  • Inputs: AI features may use your sleep traces, Sleep Debt Clock, Sleep Score signals, body-clock profile, recent consistency, app actions, and coaching history.
  • Outputs: AI features may create pattern explanations, coaching notes, recommended next steps, and audio/content suggestions.
  • Human review: Some AI-generated content may be reviewed, tested, or constrained by RestAscent safety rules before being shown.
  • Limits: AI recommendations may be incomplete or wrong. You should speak with a healthcare professional for medical concerns, persistent sleep issues, or urgent symptoms.
  • Training and improvement: We may use de-identified, aggregated, or privacy-protected data to improve product quality. We do not sell your health data to train third-party advertising models.

6. How we share personal information

We do not sell your sleep data. We do not share personal health data with employers for individual monitoring. We may share information with the following categories of recipients when needed to operate RestAscent:

  • Service providers and processors: cloud hosting, databases, authentication, push notifications, website analytics, diagnostics, AI infrastructure, customer support, email, security, and payment or subscription processing.
  • App stores and platform providers: Google Play, Apple App Store, Health Connect, Apple Health, Firebase, and operating-system services as needed for app distribution, authentication, permissions, subscriptions, notifications, and connected-provider features.
  • Teams program sponsors: aggregate and privacy-safe program insights, such as cohort engagement or aggregate sleep-health trends. Individual account data is not shared with an employer unless you explicitly authorize it or the law requires it.
  • Legal and safety recipients: regulators, courts, law enforcement, professional advisers, or other parties when required by law or necessary to protect rights, safety, security, and service integrity.
  • Business transfers: a successor or buyer if RestAscent or Argonetic is involved in a merger, acquisition, financing, reorganization, or asset sale, subject to appropriate privacy protections.

8. US state privacy disclosures, including California

Some US state privacy laws, including California's CCPA/CPRA, give residents rights over personal information. Depending on your state and whether the law applies to us, you may have rights to know, access, correct, delete, obtain a copy, opt out of sale or sharing, limit certain uses of sensitive personal information, and not be discriminated against for exercising privacy rights.

To exercise rights, email hello@argonetic.com with the subject "RestAscent privacy request". We may need to verify your identity before completing a request. Authorized agents may submit requests where permitted by law.

9. Retention and deletion

  • Account data: kept while your account is active and for a reasonable period after closure where needed for legal, security, backup, or operational reasons.
  • Sleep and coaching data: kept while needed to provide sleep history, trend analysis, coaching personalization, score/debt/rhythm calculations, and user-requested features.
  • Subscription, tax, and compliance records: may be kept for up to 7 years or the period required by applicable law.
  • Security, fraud, and audit logs: generally kept for up to 24 months unless needed longer to investigate abuse, enforce terms, or comply with law.
  • Backups: deleted data may remain in encrypted backups for up to 90 days before normal backup expiry.
  • Aggregated or anonymized data: may be retained when it can no longer reasonably identify you.

10. Your choices and controls

  • Connected sleep data: revoke Health Connect, Apple Health, or other provider permissions in device or provider settings.
  • Push notifications: change notification preferences in RestAscent or your operating-system settings.
  • Account access and deletion: request access, correction, export, deletion, or partial deletion by email.
  • AI features: you may ask us to delete eligible coaching history or sleep data used for personalization, subject to the retention limits above.
  • Marketing: unsubscribe from marketing emails using the link in the email or by contacting us. Service and security messages may still be sent.

11. Security, children, and policy changes

We use administrative, technical, and organizational safeguards designed to protect personal information, including access controls, encryption where appropriate, authentication, monitoring, and least-privilege operational practices. No system is perfectly secure, so please contact us if you believe your account or data may be at risk.

RestAscent is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided information to RestAscent, contact us so we can review and delete it where required.

We may update this policy as RestAscent changes. If changes are material, we will provide appropriate notice through the app, website, store listing, email, or another reasonable method. The updated policy will show a new "Last updated" date.
